Manuscript submissionInitial submission
The electronic management of the journal allows authors to register at the RECYT online platform. Once the user has been registered as author, instructions will appear guiding the procedure so that the manuscript is sent correctly. Should any problem or question arise, the author may contact us via e-mail:

The evaluation procedure starts once the manuscript has been sent to the journal through the platform.
Original articles should not exceed 40,000 characters, including spaces, or 7500 words, including title, endnotes, references and any other element.
Manuscript presentation should be in A4, double-spaced pages, preferably in Times 12 pt font. The first page should contain: Title (reflecting exactly, but as brief as possible, the subject of the paper); author’s name and surname (only one surname, but if the author prefers to use two they should be linked by a short dash, e.g., López-Amor, rule that also applies in case of two first names, e.g., María-José), and institutional affiliation (University of…); abstract (up to 175 words); keywords (up to 10), all of which must be both in Spanish and English; full address of all the authors (including e-mail and phone number), and acknowledgements, if any.
Notes, if possible, should be avoided; if included they will be placed at the end of the text. Tables and/or figures must be sent as a separate file, placing in the text the corresponding reference for insertion.
ReviewingThe author will receive a user name and a password to access the electronic management platform. Once the manuscript has been uploaded, it is first examined by the Editor, who verifies a series of formal aspects and scope of the paper. Manucripts are then screened for plagiarism using the CrossCheck system.
After this phase, the manuscript is sent electronically to an Associate Editor, who in turn forwards it to two (at times three) qualified experts on the subject. The authors will receive the referees’ comments and the Associate Editor’s report informing of the decision adopted about the work. Authors may check at any time the evaluation process' status through the RECYT management platform.
Final versionUpon acceptance, the author is asked to send the final version of the article (in both word and pdf format) and the paper copies requested by the Editor.
ProofsProofs are sent to the designated author for revision, under no circumstance is it possible to include new text or material or make corrections of style at proof stage. These should be returned to the journal within seven days of receipt.
Authors receive a copyright agreement that they must return to FIA signed, establishing the terms under which they surrender the copyright to FIA for their defence and protection.
