All members of editorial boards and all referees appear on the pages of the journals, and receive a certificate from the FIA. The FIA is looking for official recognition of these tasks by Spanish institutions for the assessment of scientific activity.

The originals published in FIA journals are given a DOI (Digital Object Identifier), which in turn provides, through the world-wide platform CrossRef, active protection and recognition in the digital worldwide linking system. In addition, the FIA publications are incorporated in the network of international scientific information servers through the ingenta-CatchWord service and through specific agreements with documentary data bases, and subscription agents.

All of the above factors, together with the publication of texts in a double system and with double ISSN (paper and electronic), guarantees indefinite public availability of originals published by the FIA journals.

The FIA has been a staunch defender of the authors of scientific journal articles, and at one point (as a member of CEDRO: Spanish Centre for the Defence of Reprographic Rights), it took the initiative so that they were not excluded from the process of legal defence, originally intended to protect the authors of books and other printed texts.

In addition, authors have the right to special discounts: 20% discount on book orders, 40% on those of which they are an author or compiler, and up to 50% on copies of the journal in which their work is included, apart from the free provision of 20 reprints.
